How your neighborhood may be affected:

  • Through lanes may be closed or reduced

  • Sidewalks at intersections may be closed

  • A detour option will be provided if roads are closed to through traffic

  • On-street parking may be restricted

PMP Phase 3 Treatment Map

Arterial and Collector Resurfacing Project - Phase 3

The Pavement Rehabilitation Program is geared toward improving the pavement of the existing City roadways. 

Construction of Phase 3 to begin in June of 2020 and continue through to next Calendar Year. Improvements will include roadway resurfacing and maintenance treatments, Pedestrian Bulbout and Curb Ramps, Signal detection improvements, and striping at select locations throughout the project limits. Impacts to roadways and pedestrian facilities will occur but will be minimized to the extent possible. Advance notice will be provided to affected properties and advanced warning signs will be posted to alert motorists of scheduled work. 

 Phase 3 Project to be funded with a combination of Measure X in Monterey County and Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Act (also know as SB1) funds.


Detours

Monterey Road Gas Transmission Replacement Project

This project is part of PG&E Vintage Pipeline Replacement Program. The goal of this project is to replace pipeline segments with early-generation girth welds and/or miter bends that are within high liquification and consequence areas.

•Full Closure of Monterey Rd from Fremont Blvd to Coe Ave (detour provided)

•Access to Seaside High School will be allowed off Fremont Blvd via Ord Ave from May to Summer vacation (no access to Ord Ave during summer vacation)

•Closure of Military Ave & Fremont Blvd intersection (short duration, localized detour provided, will not overlap with above closure)

Planned duration 5/17/21 –early August 2021

Work Hours: Monday -Friday 7am-6:00pm (Saturday 8am –5:30pm as needed with approval by City Engineer)

Monterey Peninsula Water Supply Project

California American Water is working on the installation of 5,300 feet of a water transmission main pipeline. For more information on the project visit their website at: www.watersupplyproject.org.

Paving work on General Jim Moore and Lightfighter Avenue is anticipated to begin on Friday, October 30, 2020. Please follow traffic control signs for detours.
