Broadway Avenue is getting over $7 million in street improvements. This will result in wider sidewalks, new bicycle lanes, bulb-outs for safer pedestrian crossing, a signal light at Alhambra, and one less traffic lane in each direction. Broadway on-street parking will remain available. Traffic is expected to flow smoother due to the signal light. Construction began with tree work in January 2017 and completion is anticipated late Spring 2018.
CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE
The project started at the Fremont end of Broadway, moving towards Del Monte. Broadway is now a one-way street (temporarily) through the end of the project. Traffic will move from Fremont West toward Del Monte during the current phase of construction. This allows for parking on one lane Please be patient during the project and drive carefully. Construction is expected to be complete late Spring 2018.
