The Planning Division’s mission is to provide comprehensive planning services
to create a balanced and sustainable city
that contributes to a high quality of life for our diverse community.
The Planning Division administers the City’s General Plan and Zoning Ordinance, reviews development applications, and plans for the future of the community. The Division also staffs the City's Planning Commission and Board of Architectural Review.
We are the first place to go if you are thinking of starting a new business, adding on to your house or have any questions regarding the use or zoning of your property. The Planning Division also handles such questions as:
- How often can I hold a garage sale at my house?
- How do I get a new sign approved for my business?
- Where in my yard can I build a deck?
- How do I run a business out of my home?
The Planning Division public counter is located on the second floor of the Seaside City Hall, to the right of the Council Chambers. Our Planning staff is available to assist you anytime during the City's general office hours.
