Walter Lee Avery Art Gallery
Housed within City Hall is the Walter Lee Avery Art Gallery, which extends along the two twelve-foot wide corridors that lead to the Council Chambers located in the center of the building’s main floor. Two large glass enclosed display cases are also made available each month for the artwork of sculptures, glass blowers, and a wide range of crafts.
Walter Lee Avery (1924-2000) was a member of the Seaside Art Commission for 30 years. The Gallery was dedicated in his memory in October 2001 on the City of Seaside’s 46th birthday.
Special themes for exhibits featured during the year include: Jazz Art Competition, Black History and Art, Youth Art and the Adult Art Competitive.
The Walter Lee Avery Art Gallery is open and free to the public during normal City Hall Hours:
Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
