Over his 35 year professional career, Mr. Fontes has served as the City Manager for Nogales, Arizona, and cities in California, Santa Paula, and Greenfield. He also served as Chief Executive Officer for the Economic Development Authority, Tohono O’Odham Nation, Arizona, where he established the Nation’s first tribal bank. In addition, while employed with the County of San Diego, he served in various roles related to real estate and property management. Mr. Fontes has a Juris Doctorate from Western State University College of Law and a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Arizona State University.

His combination of skills will help Seaside meet the challenges of creating affordable housing, local jobs, and sustainable economic development opportunities in Seaside.”
