What are your thoughts on a Seaside Civic Campus?

Studio Gang architects (www.studiogang.com) have agreed to assist the City of Seaside to study whether a courthouse can be built for less than a $1,000 a square foot (built by the State, in a decision year(s) from now) at the top of Broadway Avenue and General Jim Moore Blvd on former Fort Ord land that is referred to as “Seaside East” and whether it can be done in an environmentally sensitive manner. As part of the study, they’ll think through whether a City Hall and a third civic building (a performing arts / expo center getting quite a few mentions) would be a cost-efficient and community-building way to proceed.

We have already decided that any building at the top of Broadway needs to fully respect the importance of the location and respond to it in a thoughtful manner.

Sharing the Study

Thanks to the collective effort of residents, key stakeholders, and our consultant team, the City of Seaside and Studio Gang will present the preliminary findings from the Seaside Civic Campus feasibility study.  Please come for the presentation, stay for the discussion, and sign up to stay part of the conversation in the future.
